Brisbane City Council (BCC) - Corporate Cadet Program Sunshine Coast

Council’s Corporate Finance has direct interface across the entire organisation from administering Council’s property rates to allocation and management of Council’s budget for all of Councils diverse programs and projects.

The Cadet will have exposure to the following teams:

  • Treasury & Analysis
  • Financial Accounting & External Reporting
  • Enterprise Performance Management

Duration: Up to 12 months.

  Junior Software Developer - Albion Brisbane: Orange Sky Laundry

The role: As a key member Orange Sky's tech team, you'll be the wing-man or wing-woman to our lead software developer working across all aspects of development, maintenance and optimisation. More specifically, you will:

 

  • Learn the software development process
  • Develop and implement a variety of tools in collaboration with the technical team to support a broad range of functions, including finance, fundraising, volunteering, communications and human resources
  • Build upon interactive and closed-loop tools developed by the technical team
  • Continue to develop and optimise OSA's primary mobile application
  • Hunt and fix bugs
  • Create tools and applications to streamline data input into OSA's primary database
  • Assist the technical team to manage the OSA database and manipulate data
  • Raise questions and seek clarity with ideas and processes
  • Strive to achieve goals within agreed budget and time constraints
  • Continue to learn and hone skills as a software developer through participation in a wide variety of projects, hackathon events and ongoing professional development
  • Assist in solving office technical support issues, including but not limited to; computer, internet, printers and other ancillary devices, web-based applications.

This role would suit an undergraduate software engineering student with a fanatical interest in coding. Ideally, you will have skills in at least 2 of the following areas:

  • Interactive Web Design: JavaScript Frameworks, HTML, CSS, Web App Development
  • Languages: PHP, SQL, Bash
  • Platforms: Linux/Unix environments, Apache, Git

The Indigenous Cadetship program is a two to three-year development program that combines university study with practical work placements and an offer of a guaranteed job with us upon completion of your degree.
