Finishing your studies or just about to graduate?
We know that graduation is an exciting time for everyone but there are a few things you'll need to do to prepare and to make sure you're eligible.
When will I graduate?
When you graduate will depend on when you finish the requirements for your degree program. USC Graduations are held twice each year in April and September.
Graduate in September 2016
The September 2016 ceremonies are for those students who have successfully completed the requirements of their program at the end of Study Period 1, 2016.
Graduate in April 2017
The April ceremonies are for those students who have successfully completed the requirements of their program at the end of Study Period 2, 2016.
Your "Get ready to Graduate" Checklist
- Check your eligibility
When you complete your final enrolment through USC Central you will be asked whether you expect to graduate in the upcoming study period. If you answer yes you'll be asked to confirm a few details. Once the checklist is complete, you can view your graduation status under the program tab in USC Central. You can update your status anytime by going to the program tab in USC Central and updating it accordingly. Check your program and personal details carefully to ensure you complete your study with the correct degree name and degree requirements. Contact Student Central immediately if the notification does not match your expectations.
All graduation correspondence is sent to your student email address, so please ensure that you check it regularly.
- Pay outstanding fees and return Library items
If you have any outstanding fees or library loans you may not be able to graduate or receive your degree certificate.
Check your financial status on USC Central and pay all outstanding fees or charges.
Return any Library items to the Library Loans Desk at least four weeks prior to your graduation ceremony date.
- Receive your Statement of Completion
After your final results are released a Statement of Completion will be sent to your current mailing address. This confirms you are eligible to graduate.
The Statement of Completion can be used as proof of your degree status with employers until your official degree certificate is presented at the graduation ceremony.
Contact Student Central if you have not received a Statement of Completion and believe you are eligible to graduate.
Your invitation to attend
Invitations are sent about five weeks before the ceremony. The date and time of your graduation ceremony is allocated according to your program of study and will be included in your invitation. Once you have received your invitation, please confirm your attendance by responding to the RSVP.
International students who complete their award program will be invited to attend completion ceremonies held at different times of the year. Please contact USC International on AskUSCI@usc.edu.au for more information.
