Academic writing and study skills intensive modules — for Undergraduate students
These intensive modules will help you develop skills and strategies to meet the challenges of university study. Topics include time management, note taking, reading strategies, referencing and critical thinking. Tertiary Preparation Pathway students (TPP) are welcome to attend.
The intensive modules are delivered in three-hour sessions across three days. You can attend any or all of these sessions.
Students at USC SouthBank, USC Fraser Coast and USC Gympie can attend a series of sessions scheduled over two days.
Proofreading for tertiary purposes module
This three-hour module will help you develop skills in editing academic writing. You will learn basic rules of grammar, paragraph and sentence structure, and techniques in paraphrasing and editing.
Academic writing and study skills intensive module — for Postgraduate by coursework students
This intensive module is designed for Honours, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Masters by Coursework students to help build the advanced academic skills needed at these levels. We will study critical reading; argument; features of academic writing; synthesising information; academic integrity; and selected genres.
