All students commencing their first undergraduate program who achieve an Overall Position (OP) 1 or 2, or an equivalent rank from their secondary studies will be guaranteed an award of a Vice-Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship in Semester 1 or Semester 2, or other higher value USC Scholarship as selected through the advertised USC Scholarship application and selection processes.
If successful in being offered a higher value USC Excellence Scholarship, no offer will be made for a Vice-Chancellor's Merit Scholarship. Students may only be in receipt of one USC Excellence Scholarship.
- All domestic students commencing their first undergraduate program who have achieved an OP1 or 2, or an equivalent rank from their secondary studies;
- Students who have completed any courses as part of an undergraduate bachelor level program at another Higher Education provider will not be eligible.
Application and identification
Students are encouraged to submit a USC Scholarship application in order to be eligible for the higher value scholarships.
All eligible students will be identified by USC and offered the Vice-Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship as soon as practicable after QTAC application assessment.
Deferral of OP Guarantee Scholarships
The offer of a guaranteed Vice-Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship may be deferred for as long as the student holds a deferred place (maximum two years) at USC subject to the following conditions that the student:
- does not complete any bachelor degree level courses at another Higher Education provider during period of deferral; and
- meets the eligibility criteria and conditions of the OP Guarantee Scholarship Scheme in their Semester of commencement.
Offers of higher value USC Scholarships may not be deferred. Students may only be in receipt of one USC Excellence Scholarship.
