About the conference
The University of the Sunshine Coast's annual University Research Conference was held on Monday 9 November 2009.
The conference theme was 'Research to benefit society'.
The conference aimed to showcase and celebrate the research achievements of the University and to promote the quality, impact and benefit of USC research to academic colleagues and to the wider community.
This year we were pleased to acknowledge the support of Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB) Australia who contributed sponsorship for the Awards offered for Best Presentation in several categories and Best Poster.

Guest presenter
Professor Abigail Elizur, Recipient of the Vice-Chancellor's Medal for Outstanding University Researcher, Professor in Aquaculture Biotechnology, Genecology Research Group, Faculty of Science, Health and Education

All USC staff and research students were invited to the Conference. Interested external parties were also welcome to attend.

Venue
The venue for the workshop was the University of the Sunshine Coast. USC's 100-hectare campus is located on Sippy Downs Drive, Sippy Downs, in the heart of the Sunshine Coast. The conference was held in Building C (C on the detailed campus map).
Parking at the University is free. USC encourages carpooling and the use of public transport. Refer to the campus map to locate parking areas.
Travel information
There are a variety of public transport services to the campus, including pedestrian and cycle paths. For more information, please visit USC's Transport page.
Call for abstracts
Abstract submissions are closed. Details on how to submit an abstract for the 2010 University Research Conference will be released next year.
