Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Action Plan

The UniSC Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment (SASH) Action Plan continues UniSC's commitment to safe, respectful campuses. It is built around four key pillars.

Leadership and governance

The SASH Prevention and Response Taskforce is chaired by the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Students). The taskforce includes student and staff representation from across UniSC. It is responsible for implementing the SASH Action Plan including decision-making, monitoring and evaluation of actions.

UniSC policies and procedures outline processes for reporting sexual assault and sexual harassment and support available to students and staff.

Prevention, awareness and culture

UniSC provides training and initiatives to raise awareness around issues of consent, respectful relationships and bystander intervention. Awareness-raising activities highlight the roles and responsibilities of all students and staff in promoting a safe learning and working environment.

Service, support and safety

UniSC communicates information about sexual assault and sexual harassment support and reporting processes widely to student and staff across a range of channels.

UniSC Safer Communities provides confidential, trauma-informed support to students impacted by sexual assault and sexual harassment.

Monitoring, evaluation and research

The SASH Prevention and Response Taskforce monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of the SASH Action Plan. The plan is updated progressively to maintain a proactive approach to safe campus communities. Actions are updated to reflect and address evaluation recommendations.
