Dr Trinh Huynh is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Forest Industries Research Centre (FIRC), Forest Research Institute (FRI). Trinh gained her PhD (2023) in establishing biomass and carbon modelling for spotted gum (Corymbia citriodora subsp. variegata) plantation forests and also holds master and undergraduate degrees in Forestry with a speciality in Silviculture. Her main areas of expertise and interest include integrated timber productions, woody biomass and carbon storage in plantation forests; forest roles in mitigating Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) and utilisation of forestry resources. She is also interested in developing tree growth modelling and opportunities to improve co-benefits of the future productivity and carbon for hardwood plantations. Trinh is currently working across several funded research grants related to opportunities for farm forestry and silvopastoral systems to reach carbon neutrality and enhance the value of livestock.
