How to change your program
If you are a current student at the University of the Sunshine Coast and wish to change your program of study, you should first discuss the proposed change with the faculty of the new program. You may be eligible for exemptions or credit transfer from your previous study.
Undergraduate programs
If you have completed at least one semester of study in a USC award program (either successfully or unsuccessfully) prior to the Study Period in which your program change will become effective, you can apply directly by completing the Application to Change Program Form and submitting to Student Administration. The form is available from the Student Forms and Document Requests page.
There are two program change windows each year. The next opportunity to apply to change your program is:
- 1 April–17 May, 2013 for program changes to take effect in Study Period 2, 2013
Note: The following courses do not allow a mid-year change of program:
- Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Science
- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education
- Bachelor of Nursing Science / Bachelor of Midwifery
- Bachelor of Nutrition
- Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapy
- Bachelor of Paramedic Science
- Bachelor of Primary Education
Students are strongly encouraged to submit their application within the above window, to ensure that their program change is processed prior to the Open Enrolments date for the following Study Period.
Applications to change program submitted outside this window will be accepted up until 12 July 2013 (for Study Period 2, 2013). However, these applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
If you have not completed a semester of study in a USC program (eg deferred commencement of your program or withdrew from your first semester of study prior to census date), you will need to apply through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC).
Postgraduate programs
If you are a postgraduate student, you will need to re-apply for the new program using the Application for Postgraduate Coursework form. The form is available from the Application Forms page.
International students
If you are an International student you should first discuss your wish to change program with USC International who can outline the implications of the change regarding your stay at the University and other possible visa implications.
