Student ID card

New student identification cards

Students must obtain a new student ID card to access parts of the University, borrow books from our Library and access copy and print services.

Student ID Cards are distributed during Orientation Week, however to ensure minimum delays for students, there will be special ID Card distribution sessions scheduled for the weeks leading up to Orientation.

Full details of these sessions will be forwarded to student email accounts. After Orientation, ID cards are issued by Student Administration in Student Central, Ground Floor, Building C.

You must present photo ID to be issued with your student ID card (eg drivers licence, 18+ card or passport).

You must carry your student ID card with you at all times on campus, as security officers may request you provide it as evidence that you are a current student. This helps to ensure the safety of all students and staff on campus.

Your student ID card is also needed to:

  • access computer labs
  • borrow items from the Library
  • use USC copying and printing services
  • confirm your ID at exams

Replacement ID cards

If your student ID card has been lost or destroyed and you require a replacement, a new card is available from Student Administration with payment of a A$10 fee.

A replacement card will be issued once payment has been made. If your student ID was stolen and you can provide a police report as proof of this, the A$10 fee may be waived.

Expired ID cards

If your student ID has expired but you are still studying at USC, you can get a replacement card from Student Administration. Please show your expired card when requesting a new card.

Failure to provide an expired card will result in your card being considered lost, and you will incur the A$10 replacement fee.
