My role involves working across numerous clients and has provided the opportunity to travel locally and internationally.

It's never boring.

The Bachelor of Commerce at USC has given me a strong foundation to allow me to be successful in my role.

Studying a semester in Korea with the GO Program was also important in helping me develop my personal skills.

The exposure to a different culture, teaching styles and ways of thinking has definitely made me a more effective communicator.

Doug Francis
Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), 2011

The campus was inviting and resources were up-to-date. I always had access to lecturers and members of the faculty.

Originally I was studying a different degree, but it was not meshing with me.

I really enjoyed studying politics and international relations, but I felt to work in this field I needed a specific skill set.

After speaking with my lecturer I found a different degree that enabled me to study in two different areas that I loved.

Sophia Seselja
Bachelor of Corporate and Public Affairs, 2010
Public Affairs Officer, Department of Human Services - Medicare

A simple thank you from a student is all it takes for me to know I am in the right profession.

I also enjoy learning from the students.

They are a wealth of knowledge and sometimes open my eyes to angles or opinions that I had not considered before.

I wanted to study at a University where I could be in close contact with my tutors and lecturers. I wanted to feel like I belonged and have the opportunity for smaller classes to build closer peer relationships.

I had always dreamed of becoming a nurse. Nursing as a profession is in demand and the vast scope of employment opportunities was what finally led me to choose nursing.

I was particularly interested in a nursing science degree to give me more scope in postgraduate studies.

Becoming a flight nurse with the RFDS is a professional goal of mine but will require further study in midwifery and advanced clinical practice.

I will also need to gain more experience in intensive care and emergency/trauma nursing. Realistically this will be my 10 year goal.

I am in charge of the administration of the Indigenous Research Network at
Griffith University.

My responsibilities include the management, administration and delivery of all municipal programs and services.

I always had an interest in understanding why people and societies do the things we do, particularly political, economic, and social occurrences and changes.

Choose your own path and have faith in your choices.

You may not see the finish line all that clearly while you are in the middle of it all, but eventually your answers will be revealed to you and you will be rewarded.

Bachelor of Social Science, 2009

The most valuable part of degree was the integrated practical industry legislation and environmental best practice.

Through my role I see the connection and application of principles taught during my courses.

Work experience, field trips and real life projects such as water quality on Fraser Island also helped prepare me for my working life after university.
