How to apply

Step 1: Check eligibility

You will need to check that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for the GO Program.

Step 2: Research and select suitable courses

Find out about what courses are offered at USC partner institutions (USC student log–in required) by visiting the partner institution website and reviewing the supplied information for course outlines.

Please contact the GO Program Coordinator if you require more information.

Step 3: Contact your Faculty Program Adviser

You need to speak to your Faculty Program Adviser to discuss your course choices for credit approval at USC. You will also need to provide the prospective course outlines and the GO Application Form (PDF 119KB) to your Program Adviser.

The Program Adviser will need to grant written approval for overseas courses (Section 7, GO Application Form).

Step 4: Complete the GO Application Form, with attachments.

With the completed GO Application Form (PDF 119KB), you will need to submit:

Step 5: Submit paperwork prior to the deadline

Please submit your application form and the attachments prior to the deadline, to USC International reception, Level 1, Building J. Paperwork should be marked attention to the GO Program Coordinator.

Step 6: Assessment of application

USC may take up to 3 weeks to process your application.

Following notification of your successful application, the GO Program Coordinator will advise you of how to accept the offer and prepare for departure.

How to accept the offer

Step 1: Complete application form from host institution

Once the Dean of your USC Faculty and the Pro Vice Chancellor has approved your GO application, you will be sent a letter or e-mail of your approval to participate in the GO Program and an application form of the host institution (if applicable). Please complete any application documents for your host institution and submit to the Global Opportunities Program Coordinator.

Step 2: Provide the acceptance letter and visa documentation to GO Program Coordinator

The host institution will send an acceptance letter and documentation required to obtain a visa for the host country. The Global Opportunities Program Coordinator will contact you to collect this information.

Step 3: Contact the host institution for accommodation and course enrolment

You will then need to contact the host institution to apply for your required accommodation overseas and to organise your course enrolment overseas.

Preparing for departure

1. Apply for your visa
2. Organise travel arrangements.
3. Attend the compulsory Pre-departure Session (you will be notified of this)
4. Research the country, city and location of the host institution in preparation for your journey.
