Student Mentor Program

The Student Mentor Program aims to enrich your undergraduate student experience by linking you with a more experienced student—a mentor.

Who are student mentors?

Student mentors are:

  • experienced students who have ‘been there and done that’ and know what you are going through
  • trained in effective communication and leadership skills
  • are volunteers

What can a student mentor do for me?

A student mentor can:

  • put you in touch with other students from your faculty by organising informal group meetings
  • answer general questions about the University
  • give you a better idea about how to handle university study
  • direct you to the appropriate services on campus
  • be a friendly face on campus
  • take you on a campus tour
  • give you information throughout the semester about the services available to students
  • keep in regular email contact with you throughout the semester to keep you in the university loop
  • make time for personal contact

How do I get a mentor?

Complete the Student Mentor Program Registration Form (PDF 155KB) and return it to Student Services.
