Student Mentor Program
The Student Mentor Program aims to enrich your undergraduate student experience by linking you with a more experienced student—a mentor.
Who are student mentors?
Student mentors are:
- experienced students who have ‘been there and done that’ and know what you are going through
- trained in effective communication and leadership skills
- are volunteers
What can a student mentor do for me?
A student mentor can:
- put you in touch with other students from your faculty by organising informal group meetings
- answer general questions about the University
- give you a better idea about how to handle university study
- direct you to the appropriate services on campus
- be a friendly face on campus
- take you on a campus tour
- give you information throughout the semester about the services available to students
- keep in regular email contact with you throughout the semester to keep you in the university loop
- make time for personal contact
