Place a hold
University of the Sunshine Coast students may place a hold on General Collection items that are already on loan. You can hold up to 5 items at a time. Place a hold via the Library's online catalogue from the "Items" screen, or contact the Loans Desk on Tel: +61 7 5430 2804 or email libloans@usc.edu.au.
Search the library catalogue, and if the item you want is on loan, select the "Place a hold" button. Follow the instructions on screen. When the item arrives you will be sent a notification to your USC email account. Collect your hold from near the self checkout. Hold items are held for three days, 3 day loans for one day.
Overdue notices, fines and recalls
Loans not returned or renewed by the due date are considered overdue. If you have overdue loans you may not borrow. Fines are calculated at check in.
- fines - A$0.50 per item per day
- short term loans - A$1 per item per day
- maximum fine - A$20 per item
- Replacement costs plus applicable fines and a non-refundable A$10 administration fee per item apply for non-returned or damaged items
You are responsible for ensuring your loans are returned by the due date. As a courtesy, library notices will be sent to your USC email account for overdue items.
- for General Collection items a review notice is sent 2 days before an item becomes overdue
- you will not be sent a reminder for 3 day loans
Contact the Loans Desk on Tel: +61 7 5430 2804, email libloans@usc.edu.au to enquire about an overdue notice or missing/outstanding materials signed out to you.
All loans are subject to recall. An item may be recalled at any time if it is required urgently for the Reserve Collection or for teaching. A fine of A$20 will apply if an item is not returned within 7 days of the date it is recalled.
