Collections
General Collection
The general collection includes a range of resources and formats, to support the learning, teaching and research areas of the University, accessible through the library catalogue.
Materials in the general collection are found on Level 2 and in J Wing.
Reserve Collection
Copies of texts and required readings nominated by the Course Coordinator are held in the Reserve Collection, on Level 1.
These can be used in the Library building for two hours.
The Reserve Collection is updated for the start of each semester.
Chapters of books, journal articles, papers etc identified in course outlines may be available online via e-Reserve.
Online collections
Databases
For use by staff, students and other authorised users.
To access databases off-campus you will be prompted for your network username and password.
The Library provides access to full-text journal and newspaper databases and indexes for staff, students and other authorised users.
To access them off-campus you will be prompted for your network username and password.
Facts online
The Library provides links to selected electronic reference tools such as dictionaries, referencing guides, government and statistical sites
e-Reserve
e-Reserve (electronic reserve) includes online readings and materials, usually in .pdf, linked through the Library catalogue and for access by students and staff.
To access these resources you will be prompted for your network username and password.
Curriculum Collection
A collection of resources including anatomy models and classroom teaching aids.
Special borrowing conditions apply to material in the Curriculum Collection.
The Curriculum Collection is a separate collection housed on Level 2.
Reference
For use only in the library:
- dictionaries
- encyclopaedias
- atlases
- fact-finders
or use facts online. Reference resources are on Level 2.
Print journals
A small number of print journal titles, not available online, is located at the beginning of the General Collection on Level 2 of the Library.
Print journals are for use in the Library only and may not be borrowed.
Newspapers
The Library receives the national and Sunshine Coast regional daily newspapers for reading in the Library.
These are stored opposite the Information Desk on Level 1.
Back issues are retained for one week, except for the Financial Review which is retained for six months.
Many Australian daily newspapers are also available online.
