Description JCR is a resource that allows for the evaluation and comparison of journals using citation data from over 11,000 scholarly and technical journals in the fields of science and technology and the social sciences. The reports are published annually in two volumes.

JCR can highlight the:
  • most frequently cited journals in a field
  • highest impact journals in a field
  • largest journals in a field

Citation and article counts are important indicators of how frequently individual journals are being used by current researchers.
