Conditions of use of the U-pass Sponsored go Card

  1. These conditions of use shall apply with respect to any U-Pass Sponsored go Card (“the Card”) issued by the University of the Sunshine Coast (“the University”) to a student or staff of the University (“Authorised User”).
  2. The conditions of use of go Cards published by Translink, from time to time, shall also apply to the use of the Card by the Authorised User but to the extent that such conditions are inconsistent with these conditions, these conditions shall prevail.
  3. The University will be the account holder of the Card as far as Translink is concerned and a student or staff member to whom the Card has been issued by the University shall be the Authorised User of that the Card.
  4. An authorised user of the Card cannot obtain a refund from Translink of any amounts credited to the Card, top up the Card online or enable auto top up of the Card, dispute the balance of a the Card transaction or change the details associated with the Card.
  5. By activating and using the Card, the Authorised User agrees to these conditions of use and to the conditions of use published by Translink.
  6. The Card will be considered activated upon the first use of the Card on public transport.
  7. The University is authorised to complete and correct details provided by an Authorised User on any application form submitted with respect to a the Card and to record and use such details in accordance with any privacy policy issued by the University. An Authorised User must notify the University promptly of any change in such details including changes to name, address, and study details.
  8. The Authorised User shall be liable for all fares, fees and charges incurred by the use of the Card by any person as outlined in the user guide published by the University with respect to the Card.
  9. The Card may not be transferred to any other person by an Authorised User.
  10. An Authorised User who is issued with the Card must complete reasonable surveys, questionnaires about his/her experience using the Card submitted by or on behalf of the University.
  11. The Card shall at all times remain the property of Translink.
  12. The Card will be preloaded with the $65 entitlement at the time of registration. Any further top up will be at the Authorised User's expense. 
  13. At a date nominated by the University, in its absolute discretion and published on the Web site (representing the conclusion of the trial usage of the Cards) the Card will be cancelled and any credit balance relating the Card will be disbursed by the University. The balance of inactivate cards will be retained by the University U-pass trial project. The balance on activated cards will be transferred to the Cards subsequently issued to the Authorised User, or, in the event the U-pass project is cancelled, to a Translink go card issued to the Authorised User.
  14. Any issues or disputes between the Authorised User and the University regarding the Card are to be referred to Student Central for resolution.
  15. When using the Card on public transport an Authorised User must produce a valid concession entitlement card to a driver or other person authorised by Translink. (Failure to produce a valid concession entitlement card may result in the Authorised User incurring a penalty.)
  16. The Authorised User may cancel the Card and apply to the University for a refund of any residual credit placed by the Authorised User on an activated Card in accordance with any then current policy with respect to cancellations and refunds published by the University.
  17. The University may change these conditions and any related material (such as the policy with respect to cancellations and refunds) at any time, at its absolute discretion. Updated conditions and related materials will be published on the University’s website.
