Connecting to Eduroam - Apple Mac

Step 1

Step 1 Apple symbol

a) Click the apple symbol located in the top left hand corner

Step 2

Step 2 system preferences

a) Select ‘System Preferences’ from the menu

Step 3

Step 3 select network

a) Select ‘Network’ from the icons

Step 4

Step 4 Airport advanced

a) Select ‘Airport’

b) Click the ‘Advanced’ button

Step 5

Step 5 User preferences

a) Select the ‘802.1X’ tab

b) Click the ‘+’ symbol

c) Select ‘Add user profile’

Step 6

Step 6 eduroam user profile

a) Type in ‘eduroam’

b) Enter your email address

c) Enter your password

d) Ensure the only Authentication protocol selected is ‘PEAP’

e) Select ‘eduroam’ as the Wireless Network

f) Ensure ‘WPA2 Enterprise’ is selected as the Security Type

Step 7

Step 7 Auto Proxy

a) Select the ‘Proxies’ tab

b) Check the box next to ‘Auto proxy discovery’

If you are not able to select ‘Auto proxy discovery’ (OSX 10.5 or older), then skip this step.

Step 8

Close all windows and apply the settings

Step 9

Step 9 select eduroam

Please note to connect to the eduroam network you must be in range of an access point.

Make sure your airport is turned on
a) Select the ‘eduroam’ network

Step 10

Step 10 logon to eduroam

a) Select ‘eduroam’

b) Make sure your email address is correct

c) Your password will also be automatically filled

d) Click ‘OK’

Once connected you are able browse the web.
