Student internet access

The University of the Sunshine Coast recognises that the internet is a valuable resource and as such provides internet access to students for purposes directly associated with their academic studies, in accordance with the Acceptable Use of Information Technology Resources.

Until recently USC had in place an internet quota system that regulated the amount of internet download available to each student. Due to recent changes to the manner in which the University is charged for internet traffic, the quota on students is no longer in place. However, should there be a change in charging to the University or the future demands from student use present a financial, performance or access issue, appropriate measures may be reintroduced.

Students are still required to authenticate to access the internet for security reasons including to allow logging associated with acceptable use of this service.
