Connecting to USC Wireless iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch

Note: Make sure your wireless is turned on. Also, to complete the following steps you must be in range of the wireless network. For an up to date list of locations where the wireless is available on campus please refer to wireless on campus.  

Step 1

Step 2

    1. Select the Wi-Fi option.
    2. Select ‘Other’ in the list of available networks.

Step 3

    1. Type ‘USC Wireless +’ as the name.
    2. Select WPA2 Enterprise as the security.
    3. Enter your university email address (ie. a_b001@student.usc.edu.au).
    4. Enter your password.
    5. Step 4

    1. Accept the certificate. The screen showing the certificate named mystique and the Accept button circled.

 

Step 5

    1. Push the arrow icon located next to the USC Wireless + network. The arrow icon located next to the USC Wireless + network.

 

 

Step 6

    1. Check that ‘DHCP’ is selected.
    2. Select ‘Manual’ for HTTP Proxy.
    3. Type in ‘proxy.usc.edu.au’ as the Server.
    4. Type ‘8080’ as the Port.
    5. Turn on Authentication.
    6. Enter your university username.
    7. Enter your password.

Press the home button to return to the home screen.The menu screen with the following circled; DHCP button is selected under IP address, Manual is selected under HTTP Proxy, the words proxy.usc.edu.au are entered as the Server, 8080 for the Port, Authentication is turned on, a university username and password is entered.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 7

Open safari and start browsing the web
