Strategic Information and Analysis Unit
The role of the Strategic Information and Analysis Unit is to provide timely and accurate information and analysis; and through effective communication, assist the University in decision making, achieving its strategic goals and objectives, future planning and satisfying legislative requirements through the following:
- Collection, analysis and reporting of core performance data relating to the University's Strategic Plan and associated Top Level Plans
- Production and analysis of official student statistics relating to
- admissions
- enrolments
- load
- graduates
- attrition
- progress
- Development and production of the comprehensive model for student load projection and associated income
- Coordination of legislative and statutory reporting requirements relating to students
- Provision of data and analysis, including comparative institutional performance, consistent with the University’s Quality System to support evidence-based strategic decision making processes and future planning
- Development, coordination and analysis of student feedback obtained through:
- Australian Graduate Survey (AGS)
- Beyond Graduation Survey (BGS)
- International Student Barometer (ISB)
- New Student Survey (NSS)
- Student Evaluation of Teaching and Courses (SETAC)
- University Experience Survey (UES)
- Management of the Student Survey Policy
- Response to ad-hoc queries regarding student information.
Staff
Kerry Martin, Director, Strategic Information and Analysis Unit,oversees the functions of the Unit and is responsible for advising management on matters of a strategic nature and for the development and production of the model for load projections. The Director reports to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor.
Amanda Bailey, Data and Statistics Officer, assists in the administration of student and graduate surveys, and the Student Survey Policy.
Trudi Best, Strategic Information Analyst, coordinates the reporting of official student statistics and the collection and reporting of the University's core performance measures (aligned with the USC Strategic and Top Level Plans).
Harley Birt, Data Analyst, contributes to the reporting of official student statistics and assists with the collection and reporting of the University's core performance measures (aligned with the USC Strategic and Top Level Plans).
Joanne Davey, Strategic Information Analyst, coordinates legislative and statutory reporting, admissions reporting, verification of student data for legislative requirements, assists with load planning and produces statistical reports and analyses.
Lynn Foster, Student Data Collections Officer, coordinates operational aspects of legislative and statutory reporting and produces statistical reports and analyses.
Marie Foster, Student Feedback Officer, manages the Student Evaluation of Teaching and Courses (SETAC) processes and other student surveys, and produces related statistical reports and analyses.
Michelle Neochi, Data Analyst, contributes to the reporting of official student statistics and produces a range of statistical reports, maps, visualisations and analyses used for University decision making and strategic planning.
Tanya Tietze, Senior Strategic Information Analyst, coordinates surveys used to collect student and graduate feedback and the production of related statistical reports and analyses, and oversees the management of the Student Survey Policy.
Hiedi Wilkinson, Data and Statistics Officer, manages the Australian Graduate Survey (AGS) and other student surveys, and produces related statistical reports and analyses.
