Profile

Margot began her professional life as a secondary school teacher of English with the South Australian Department of Education. As a teacher with Queensland TAFE, she taught English as a second language as well as language and learning skills to adults preparing for tertiary study.

Since 1999 Margot has been an Academic Skills Adviser at the University of the Sunshine Coast and provides individual consultations, workshops and online resources on academic writing and study skills. She also coordinates the Peer Adviser Program.

More recently she has been part of a team effort to establish a USC Chapter of Golden Key International Honour Society, of which she is the Chapter Adviser.

Margot received national recognition in 2009 receiving an Australian Learning and Teaching Council Citation for developing university-wide, student-to-student mentor and advising programs. These programs enhance the university experience for commencing students and benefit student leaders personally and professionally.
