Profile
Ian joined the Student Services team in 2009 as an Academic Skills Adviser. In this role, he conducts workshops, and works with individual students to develop their study and writing skills.
He has taught English, Economics and Maths in High Schools in Queensland and English as a Second/Foreign Language in TAFE on the Sunshine Coast. As well as establishing the Tertiary Preparation Course at Sunshine Coast TAFE, Ian was a manager for TAFE at an Indigenous community in Queensland.
At a university level, Ian has taught in both the Business and Arts Faculties of several universities. He has taught subjects including Communication and Culture, Cultural Industries, Market Research, Economics and Business Management.
Ian has specific interests in the language and spirituality of business. As well as working in the field of education, Ian has worked as a house builder, road repairer, gardener, eco-tourism operator and house painter.
