Profile
Su has over 12 years experience working in the area of Indigenous Higher Education. She has held a number of roles from internship coordination to student support at Griffith University, and now in the Buranga Centre at the University of the Sunshine Coast.
As a Torres Strait Islander, Su is committed to improving education and career outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. She was one of the first Placement Officers with the National Indigenous Cadetship Project, achieving the highest number of cadet placements amongst participating universities in the 2004 pilot project. Su’s expertise lies in identifying and facilitating industry partnerships for Indigenous students who are eager to learn and embrace exciting professional opportunities.
Prior to her career in higher education, Su worked in the area of property management and holds an REIQ Cert V. She brings a wealth of industry experience to her role, however has also worked on government projects including the “Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women’s Task Force on Violence” report. Su is fluent in both English and Dutch.
