Faculty research

A USC graduate stands outside a community centre.

Research in the Faculty of Arts and Business encompasses a broad range of academic fields and disciplines. Supervision is available in many of the programs, majors and minors offered in the Faculty. Emerging and experienced researchers are strongly supported by the Faculty.

Faculty of Arts and Business researchers are committed to scholarly inquiry, creativity and innovation. Students wishing to undertake research at postgraduate or honours level should scan academic staff profiles to examine the expertise, publications and current projects of Faculty staff.

Potential students often find it difficult to formulate a research question or topic. Please visit research areas to get an idea of the range of research expertise in faculty. Our ideas for research projects list is also intended to stimulate research topics and research questions.

Current Higher Degrees by Research (HDR) students in the Faculty of Arts and Business undertake projects on a broad wide range of topics and issues.

As an honours research student or a postgraduate higher degrees by research student you will not only enhance your own employment prospects, but in contributing to advancing and applying knowledge, you will play an active role in shaping a better future for all.

The Faculty’s research expertise also aligns with that of the Sustainability Research Centre

The Faculty hosts regular research seminars to present the work of faculty staff, HDR students and visiting academics.
