Profile
Associate Professor Janet Allan has a clinical background in both general and psychiatric nursing and a lengthy career in nurse education, initially hospital-based but mostly in the New South Wales tertiary education sector. Her most recent position was Head of the School of Nursing and Health Science at Charles Sturt University, Bathurst NSW.
Dr Allan has served on a number of state and national nursing bodies, including the Australian Council of Deans of Nursing and Midwifery, the NSW Deans of Nursing, NSW Department of Health Mental Health Working Party, and the Queensland Undergraduate Program Coordinators. She is currently a grants assessor for the Queensland Nursing Council. She is a Fellow of the College of Nursing (NSW), the Royal College of Nursing (Australia), and the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses.
