University Council

Council is the University's governing body and derives its powers from the University of the Sunshine Coast Act 1998.

Council may appoint staff, manage and control the University's affairs and property and manage and control the University's finances.

Council may also delegate its powers under the Act to a member of Council, a committee of Council or to a member of staff.

The term of office of the majority of members is four years and the term of office of student members is two years.

The Chancellor, John Dobson, OAM, presides at meetings of the Council.

2012 is the third year of the sixth University Council.
