Learning and Teaching Awards
The University of the Sunshine Coast is committed to recognising and rewarding its teaching staff for excellence. The Vice-Chancellor’s Teaching medal recognises and rewards exceptional staff performance in the following areas:
- Learning and Teaching (for contributions to the advancement of learning and teaching)
- Learning and Teaching – Sessional Staff (for excellence in facilitating student learning)
The Vice-Chancellor’s medals are presented to the recipients at the graduation ceremony and A$5,000 is subsequently placed in each recipient’s academic pursuits account in order to support their work. In the event that there is more than one winner of any medal the A$5,000 will be shared between the winners.
Calls for nominations are issued each year. Nominations for the Vice-Chancellor’s medals are submitted using the Vice-Chancellor’s Medals Nomination Form. Nominations must be submitted no later than midday on the last working day of August.
Panels chaired by members of the Learning and Teaching Management Committee meet and assess applications.
