Indigenous Dancers perform at USC
10 May, 2004
Indigenous dancers from Mornington Island, Borroloola and the Sunshine Coast will take part in a free performance at the University of the Sunshine Coast on Wednesday May 12.
The Gubbi Gubbi Dance Troupe will perform a welcoming ceremony at 12.30 before their performance of singing and dancing.
The Lardil People of Mornington Island and the Yanyula People of Borroloola will be making a special cultural exchange visit to the region.
The groups are working together to build a strong image and understanding of Aboriginal presence in this country.
The performance will begin at 12.30 on the lawn area outside the University's Brasserie and finish at 2pm.
The performance is supported by the University of the Sunshine Coast Indigenous Services and the Student Guild.
