QTAC cut-off date extended to December 24

If you have ever considered studying at university now is the time to apply.

With extra student places and a range of new degrees on offer at the University of the Sunshine Coast in 2005, your chances of being accepted into a university course have never been better.

More and more Sunshine Coast residents are taking advantage of having a university right on their doorstep according to Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Thomas.

"The people of the Sunshine Coast have embraced and supported the university and each year our student numbers are growing," Professor Thomas said.

"People enrol at university for different reasons. School leavers are looking for a way into a particular profession and to begin their careers with an undergraduate degree.

"Students who are not school leavers are looking for a career change, a promotion or to enhance their current career."

"Either way, our students find the experience of being at university beneficial, not only for their careers, but also for their own understanding of wider issues and for achieving their own personal goals.

Graduating students of the University consistently rate their experience at USC very highly and USC lecturers were awarded a national five star rating for their qualifications.

Access to staff and resources is easy at USC with small tutorial groups and a high computer to student ratio.

"Again and again, our students comment that at USC they don't feel like a number, that because of our smaller tutorial groups lecturers have the time to get to know them, support and encourage them individually," Professor Thomas said.

If you are still not sure whether university is for you, be assured that USC has transitional programs in place to make the move to university study, whether full or part-time, much easier.

The final cut off date for university enrolment for people who are not school leavers is December 13. (Now extended to December 24 and includes school leavers)
