Graduation 2005 - a great success

More than 400 graduates celebrated the conclusion of years of
hard work, sacrifice and study last night at the University's
seventh annual Graduation Ceremony.
The Graduating Class of 2005 consisted of more than 650
graduates, many of who are already forging successful careers
locally and throughout Australia.
Acting Chancellor Tim Fairfax, AM, FAICD, awarded the degree
awards to a stream of excited graduands on centre stage at the
Innovation Centre.
Honorary Senior Fellowships were awarded to local community
members Shay Zulpo and Doug Biggs and graduate Suzanne Burford
received the Chancellor's Medal for her outstanding academic and
community involvement while studying at USC and she also gave the
Graduate Response on behalf of all the 2005 Graduating Class.
It was a gala night of celebration and congratulations for
everyone involved.
Family and friends gave a rousing cheer for the graduates as
they fell in behind the academic procession and exited the building
as fully-fledged graduates of the University of the Sunshine
Coast.
Alumni numbers for the University now stand at more than
3000.
The 2006 Graduation will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of
the University's first intake of students in 1996.
