Academic excellence recognised

Bachelor of Arts graduate, Inez Mahony's outstanding academic performance earned her a University Medal at this year's Graduation.
Ms Mahony spent a semester in Indonesia as part of her degree undertaking field studies into the role of Dukun in contemporary East Java, her findings presented in 'A case study of traditional healers in a remote village'.
Achieving a Grade Point Average of 6.82 during her undergraduate study, Ms Mahony has continued at the University of the Sunshine Coast in 2005 with an Honours degree examining the Indonesian media's treatment of relations between Australia and Indonesia.
During her study, Ms Mahony also undertook courses at the University of New England.
The University Medal is awarded to students who achieve a Grade Point Average of 6.5 or more and have demonstrated academic excellence throughout the entire Bachelor's degree program and has passed all courses at a uniformly high standard.
