Returning to study made easier
8 August, 2005
Information session Wednesday August 17, 6.30pm. Call 5459 4558 or email kpage@usc.edu.au to book your place.
Not every university student comes straight from high school. For many, the chance to study at university happens after a few (or several), years spent in the workforce or caring for a family.
At the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) many students are non-school leavers.
They return to study to begin new careers, start their own small businesses or to upgrade their current careers.
Others study to keep up to date with current industry trends and issues or to expand their general skills and knowledge and follow a lifelong dream.
To assist people who are thinking of returning to study or wondering if university is for them, USC is holding a free information session on Wednesday August 17 at 6.30pm.
The evening is for those interested in finding out more about applying to and studying at university and will cover university entry ratings and how work and life experience counts toward university entry. Many people are surprised at just how much their work experience can contribute toward university entry scores.
Presenters will discuss the application process, how to maximise your tertiary eligibility, tips on managing work, family and study commitments and information will be available on which degrees are on offer at USC in 2006.
Current students will be on hand to answer questions and discuss your concerns.
While the session is free and open to the public, seats are limited and bookings are essential. Call 5459 4558 or email kpage@usc.edu.au to book your place and change your life in 2006.
