The 2006 Faculty of Business Awards and Prizes Ceremony will be held during the afternoon of graduation day, Thursday 20 April.

This is a special event to acknowledge last year's outstanding Business students.

This year there are 26 sponsors with 37 awards being given out.

In addition, there are numerous bursaries and scholarships that are awarded on the afternoon.

The prizes range in value from $250 to $1500. They are awarded to outstanding students in particular courses such as ACC221 Company Accounting or to an overall outstanding student in a particular major. Also, there are bursaries and scholarships for students worth up to $18,500.

This is a proud occasion not only for award recipients but also for Faculty staff, local, state and national award sponsors, and the University as a whole.

A business degree from USC equals a job according to a survey conducted last year of Australia university business degrees.

USC's Faculty of Business came out in top place in the survey of business graduate employment rates with USC's business degrees consistently rating higher than the national average when it comes to graduates finding jobs.

USC accounting graduates have a 100 per cent success rate (the national rate was 91 per cent), while other graduate employment rates - including marketing, tourism and human resources - are above the national average with 91 per cent of graduates finding work in their chosen industries.
