A digital media exhibition, Bytes of Attitude, featuring work by advanced level Computer-Based Art and Design students will open at the University Gallery tomorrow night.

Third year student designer, Gemma Ditmar, will officially open the exhibition which explores technology and society in exciting and innovative ways.

Lecturer in Computer-Based Art and Design, Debbie Livingston, said the works are on a par with today's professional industry standards.

"Visitors to the Gallery are bound to be impressed by the professional standards of the works which students have met both technically and artistically in producing these large format digital images," Ms Livingston said.

USC offers a Bachelor of Arts (Computer-Based Art and Design) which prepares students for a variety of careers including graphic design, advertising, publishing, web design or multimedia design and development. The degree is one of USC's most popular and gives students the skills they need to work either in-house or operate their own design business.

"This exhibition features 33 of our top student designers. Student exhibitions are always popular and this innovative exhibition has educational relevance not only for university students but also for high school students considering a career in design. They will see what is at the forefront of graphic design in Queensland," Ms Oelrich said.

The University of the Sunshine Coast Gallery, located at the University campus on Sippy Downs Drive, Sippy Downs, is open to the public from 10am to 4pm weekdays and Saturday from 1 to 4pm.

The 2006 USC Gallery Exhibition Program is proudly supported by Coastline BMW.
