Congratulations to 2213 successful applicants
12 January, 2006
KEY DATE: Monday, 23 January (by 10am) is the deadline for responding to the January round offer.
Offer packs being mailed from the University contain details of how to respond.
A record 2213 people have been offered a place at the University of Sunshine Coast for Semester 1, 2006 - a 26 per cent increase on last year and this figure is set to climb with a second round of offers being made on 1 February.
The University had a significant increase in the number of applications received for 2006. Up to 30 per cent more people chose USC as their first preference compared to 2005 statistics.
This first round of offers will be released on-line through QTAC (Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre - www.qtac.edu.au) at 1am tomorrow morning (Thursday Jan 12) and enrolment packs from USC will begin arriving in applicant's mailboxes over the next few days.
Responding promptly to the offer pack will guarantee a place at USC in Semester 1 which begins 20 February, with Orientation Week being held the week prior (13-17 Feb).
The offer packs contain full details on how to enrol at USC for Semester 1.
Anyone who has applied to USC but does not receive an offer pack within the next few days should contact the University on 5430 2890 for advice or email studentadministration@usc.edu.au
USC Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Thomas congratulated those applicants who have been offered a place at USC.
"University study can significantly change people's lives. The skills and knowledge students acquire while they are here will be with them for the rest of their lives.
"A tertiary education opens up a range of unique opportunities and it is up to the individual to make the most of their time here both academically and socially.
"I congratulate those applicants who have made it this far and I look forward to welcoming them to the University at the start of O-Week in February," Professor Thomas said.
And if you haven't already applied, it is still not too late to start studying at USC this February.
Monday 23 January is the last day to apply, change preferences or submit documentation for guaranteed inclusion in the second round of offers on 1 February.
Applications details are available through QTAC (Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre) at www.qtac.edu.au
