A group of health promotion experts will workshop creative approaches to school health promotion programs on 8 June at Nambour High School.
The University of the Sunshine Coast in conjunction with the Centre for Healthy Activities, Sport and Exercise (CHASE), Queensland Cancer Fund and Queensland Health (who make up the Healthy Schools Reference Group), will present workshops and seminars on skin cancer prevention, school gardening programs, school breakfasts, physical activities and anti-bullying programs.
The keynote speaker will be Professor Brian Cambourne from the University of Wollongong.
Jane Gregg, lecturer in Health Promotion at USC, will present "The Health Promoting Schools Framework Evaluating your School Program".
The one-day workshop will focus on creating 'whole of school' approaches to school health promotion programs
The day is open to anyone working in or with an interest in school health promotion.
