Health promotion lecturer recognised by industry
13 June, 2006
Well-deserved recognition for Public Health lecturer, Lily O'Hara, who is now a Life Member of the Australian Health Promotion Association and has also been appointed to the Health Promotion Journal of Australia Editorial Advisory Board.
Life membership to the Australian Health Promotion Association is the highest award offered by the industry and Ms O'Hara is only the fourth person to receive this accolade.
Ms O'Hara, who is passionate about public health and health promotion, received the award for outstanding and distinguished service to the Association and to health promotion in Australia.
Soon after, Ms O'Hara received the news that she had been appointed to the Health Promotion Journal of Australia Editorial Advisory Board.
This peer-reviewed Journal has more than 1100 subscribers throughout the world, and is the only journal specifically focused on health promotion research and practice in Australia.
The Journal has a small and select Advisory Board, making this appointment a great honour for Ms O'Hara.
Ms O'Hara lectures in Health Promotion and Public Health at the University at undergraduate and postgraduate level. She also actively promotes a healthy approach to body size, health and fitness to the community.
The University's range of health related degrees is expanding as demand increases for well-qualified graduates in these fields.
