University to welcome largest mid-year intake of students

New students look forward to their studies at USC

11 July 2007

The University of the Sunshine Coast will today (11 July) welcome its biggest mid-year intake of students.

USC has made almost 500 offers of places to new students for Semester 2, and hundreds of them are expected to attend the Orientation Official Welcome at the University today from 10-11am.

Students will receive program information and study tips, tour the USC campus and take part in library and computer network tutorials throughout the day.

Other Orientation activities this week include free lunches and entertainment, market stalls and fun sporting events today and tomorrow afternoon.

Many of the new students also will attend a special weekend Orientation camp on Fraser Island this weekend.

The camp at USC’s Dilli Village Environmental Education Camp will feature bushwalking, visiting freshwater lakes, swimming, fishing, bird-watching and spending time getting to know other students and lecturers.
