Information night to help those returning to study

Mature-age student Kerry Murray receives help from her mentor Stella Romagnoli-Passeggi

17 September 2007

The University of the Sunshine Coast will hold a free information session at 6.30pm on Wednesday 17 October for those interested in returning to study and completing a university degree.

USC staff and students will host an interactive workshop that explores issues relevant to students returning to formal education after a period of absence.

The evening event is particularly aimed at those aged over 21 years who are interested in undertaking study at university level for the first time.

Detailed information will be provided about application processes, tips on improving tertiary eligibility, how to gain recognition for prior learning and work experience, and alternative entry pathways to university.

Information also will be supplied about the wide range of degrees, student support services and financial support available at USC.

Workshop attendees will be able to ask questions of administrative and academic staff and speak to current mature age students about how they have managed the demands of study, work and family life.

Bookings are essential by phoning Tegan Piggford at the University of the Sunshine Coast on (07) 5459 4795.
