Bureau issues severe weather warning
Students and staff of the University of the Sunshine Coast have been advised that there is a severe storm front with destructive wind gusts heading towards the Sunshine Coast.
This alert has been issued to help people take any necessary precautionary measures.
Strong winds of more than 80km/h are currently expected to arrive at the Sunshine Coast this evening. Please view the Bureau of Meteorology website regularly at www.bom.gov.au/weather/qld
Also view the bureaus Doppler Wind chart for the location and intensity of the storm front.
USC will be monitoring the situation and will issue communications via the web home page, portal and emails.
For those who will be on campus this afternoon, ensure you update any work on computers regularly in case there are power outages.
Those dependent upon public transport might wish to consider leaving earlier today.
