USC staff to attend annual careers expo

USC academic Angela Calder chats with prospective student Beau McEwen

7 July 2009

Those keen to study at the University of the Sunshine Coast in 2010 will be able to find all the information they need at the Sunshine Coast Daily Careers Expo on Tuesday 21 July.

Career advisers, academics and student administration staff from the University will attend the expo at the Kings Champion Centre, Tanawha, from 10am-2pm and from 4-7pm.

Program advisers from USC’s Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, Business, and Science, Health and Education will be on hand to answer questions about the wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees on offer.

And the University will have information available about its study programs, how to gain entry to university, support services for students, and the popular Global Opportunities (GO) Program which enables students to spend a semester or two studying overseas.

Career prospects for USC graduates remain strong, as the University’s study programs have been designed to address specific community needs for graduates in particular professions.

Its professionally-accredited programs are tailored to meet local and national skills shortages and lead to real job outcomes.

Degrees introduced in recent years have included Engineering, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Paramedic Science, Nursing Science, and Regional and Urban Planning. There also has been an increased focus on entrepreneurship and sustainability in many study programs.

USC also will display its range of degree programs and its services for students at the Tertiary Studies Expo (TSXPO) at the RNA Showgrounds, Bowen Hills, Brisbane, from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday 18-19 July.
