Business forum to focus on cash flow crises
Emotions can run high when businesses face cash flow crises, and the personal reactions of the business professionals involved must be taken into account when seeking solutions.
So says Julia Sloman, the keynote speaker at the next University of the Sunshine Coast Business Professionals' Forum at USC from 5.30-8pm on Thursday 15 October.
Ms Sloman is the Chief Financial Officer and Joint Company Secretary of Runge Limited, a company which successfully floated on the Australian Stock Market last year.
She will share practical experiences she gained from her earlier CFO roles in the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector, where she successfully guided companies through cash flow problems and saved them from insolvency.
Ms Sloman said cash flow crises often provided strong emotional and personal challenges for accounting practitioners and business owners alike.
She said her presentation at USC would focus on what it feels like to go through a cash flow crisis and what practical steps business owners and accountants can take to alleviate cash flow problems.
Ms Sloman is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and she holds a Masters Degree from the University of Cambridge.
The forum will cost $33, which also covers light refreshments during networking. To book, contact USC’s Faculty of Business on 5430 1221.
The University of the Sunshine Coast, in association with CPA Australia and The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, launched the monthly Business Professionals’ Forums series earlier this year.
The forums are designed to give Coast business people a chance to hear high-profile guest speakers discuss important current issues and to provide time for networking.
