Paramedic Science team dives in for charity
A talented team of students from the University of the Sunshine Coast will take part in the 2009 Island Charity Swim from Mudjimba to Mooloolaba on Saturday 22 August.
The team comprises five second-year Paramedic Science students Emma McKenzie, Kate Thornton, Jarod Menger, Darcy Staskiewicz and Derek Swift, and Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Science Nick Prass.
Four of the team are noted surf lifesaving competitors, with Emma McKenzie also a gold medallist at the recent Australian Pool Rescue Championships.
The team is looking forward to taking part in the annual ocean challenge, which has raised more than $800,000 for Nambour and Currimundi special schools in the past eight years.
Donations to the USC team can be made by contacting Mr Prass on 5459 4875 or via email at nprass@usc.edu.au.
