Business Enterprise Day for Year 10s
Almost 100 Year 10 students from across the region will attend a special Business Enterprise Day at the University of the Sunshine Coast tomorrow (Wednesday 7 October).
The event from 9.25am to 2.15pm will encourage students to consider various business-related career paths by introducing them to a wide diversity of businesses and business people.
The day is a collaborative effort of USC’s Faculty of Business and the Business Educators Association of Queensland, with further support from Sunshine Coast Enterprises.
Sam Sheppard, founder and director of Coast-based construction firm the Buildmore Group, will present the keynote speech from 9.30-10.05am.
Ms Sheppard recently launched the Women into Building Housing Showcase project to raise awareness and acceptance of women in construction.
A surprise treat for the students will be a presentation by 2005 Australian Idol contestant, Dan England, from 12.45-1.45pm. Dan will discuss his experiences in the music industry and perform for the students.
The annual Business Enterprise Day will be held in the auditorium of USC’s Innovation Centre.
