Noosa Centre to hold Orientation program

13 February 2009

New students enrolled at the University of the Sunshine Coast’s Noosa Centre are expected to turn out in force for a special Noosa Orientation program on Monday 16 February and Tuesday 17 February.

The first-year students will be able to find out about the University’s services and facilities at The J in Noosa Junction on Monday and travel en masse by bus to the USC Campus at Sippy Downs on Tuesday.

An official welcome by USC’s Dean of Business Professor Evan Douglas will be held at 10am Monday in The J’s auditorium, before University staff outline the support services available to Noosa students.

After light refreshments at 10.45am, there will be a site orientation of rooms and facilities.

Information sessions will follow at 11.30am, providing specific details on how students can structure degree programs, select courses and access online information.

Separate tutorials about the USC computer network and the University’s library services will be held at both 12.30pm and at 1.30pm.

On Tuesday 17 February, students will travel by bus to the USC Campus at Sippy Downs for a campus orientation, photo session and other fun activities. Buses will leave the Noosa Centre at 9am.

Noosa students also are welcome to attend other Orientation Week activities at the USC Campus next week. For more details, log on to the University website on www.usc.edu.au.
