Information night for parents

USC will hold an information night for parents of students in Years 10-12 on Wednesday 3 June

25 May 2009

The University of the Sunshine Coast will hold a free information evening on Wednesday 3 June for parents of Year 10-12 students who are considering university study.

This event, from 6-8pm, will give parents practical advice on how their children can best prepare for tertiary study, as well as an understanding of what happens at universities.

USC External Relations Coordinator Kylie Russell said parents, as well as the students themselves, would benefit greatly from attending the evening.

“Topics will include career planning, choosing subjects for senior school, OP scores, the regional preference scheme, pathways to university and the study programs available at USC,” she said.

“The session also will explain what university is all about, the costs associated with tertiary study, scholarships, financial support, and the resources that are available to help students’ decision-making.”

Parents are also welcome to take part in campus tours starting at 5pm on the same evening. The tours will be led by current USC students and will highlight the University’s state-of-the-art facilities.

Bookings for the information evening are essential. Contact USC’s School Liaison Officer Tegan McFarland on (07) 5456 5000 or via email at <schools@usc.edu.au>.
