Advanced-level design students at the University of the Sunshine Coast will highlight their career aspirations, determination and creativity in a new exhibition to open soon at the USC Gallery.

The resolution through design exhibition will feature the stunning portfolios of design students who are about to embark on careers in marketing, advertising, multimedia and communication.

JosephMark Brisbane managing director Ben Johnston and creative director Jess Huddart will officially open the exhibition at 6pm on Thursday 12 November.

USC’s Computer-Based Design Lecturer Toni Coles said the resolution through design theme had various meanings for the students, relating to both their design work and their future options.

“Resolution can be about having a firm determination to do something,” she said. “It can be an explanation, as of a problem or a puzzle or a solution, and can even be a prismatic separation of sunlight into its spectral colours.

“The advanced-level design students are discovering their own design resolution through their portfolios. They have put considerable thought into the ideas behind each project in their portfolios.”

Ms Coles said the students’ work would appeal to industry professionals, future students and the general community.

Students graduating from USC with art and design degrees have the potential to work as professionals in advertising, graphic design, information visualisation, interpretive design, animation, multimedia design and development, packaging, publishing and web design.

resolution through design will continue at the University of the Sunshine Coast Gallery, Sippy Downs, until Saturday 21 November. Admission is free and the Gallery is open from 10am to 4pm Mondays to Saturdays.
