USC earns fifth Employer of Choice citation
The University of the Sunshine Coast has received its fifth consecutive citation from the Equal Opportunity For Women in the Workplace Agency (EOWA) as an Employer of Choice for Women.
These citations are awarded annually in recognition of efforts by organisations to increase the representation of women at senior staff levels and to help staff maintain work/life balance.
University Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Thomas AM said he was proud of USC’s continued success in earning the citation.
“To gain this rigorously-assessed citation, the University has demonstrated improved outcomes for women, particularly in the areas of attracting, growing, promoting and retaining female staff across the organisation,” he said.
“Women make up more than 60 percent of our workforce and it is crucial to the long-term success of our University that we continue to provide a work environment that allows us to be an employer of choice.”
The University of the Sunshine Coast was one of 111 organisations nationally, and one of only 12 in Queensland, that earned an Employer of Choice for Women citation this year.
