Sixty scholarships for new USC students
Students starting at the University of the Sunshine Coast in semester one next year can apply now for a share of $383,500 in scholarships.
The 60 scholarships on offer, which range in value from $3,500 to $12,000 over three years, aim to help students turn their dreams into reality.
Some are funded by USC and some by private donors. Eligibility varies from broad to specific, such as students from rural areas, school leavers or students of a particular program.
“There are 40 new Vice-Chancellor’s Merit Scholarships in 2010, each worth $6,000 over three years,” said Admissions and Scholarships Manager Kath Hughes.
“Selection depends on a variety of factors including academic merit, community/extracurricular activities and financial need.”
Ms Hughes urged new USC students to ensure they applied before the deadline of 30 November 2009.
Scholarships could help pay for tuition, textbooks, equipment, accommodation or general living expenses.
Most are for new undergraduates in 2010 but some are open to students who started in semester two this year.
