USC wins sixth Employer of Choice citation
The University of the Sunshine Coast has received its sixth consecutive Employer of Choice For Women citation.
These citations are awarded annually by the Equal Opportunity For Women in the Workplace Agency (EOWA) in recognition of efforts to increase the representation of women at senior staff levels and to help staff maintain work/life balance.
The University of the Sunshine Coast was one of 95 organisations nationally, and one of only 11 in Queensland, to earn an Employer of Choice for Women citation this year.
University Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Thomas AM said he was proud of USC’s continued success in this important area.
“To gain the rigorously-assessed citation, the University must show that it has continued to provide improved outcomes for women right across the organisation,” he said.
EOWA’s citation announcement this year coincided with International Women’s Day, an event which is celebrated annually by the University of the Sunshine Coast.
More than 80 staff and students attended a free breakfast on campus that featured a presentation about “Feminism and Humour” by social researcher, educator and activist Dr Ivana Milojevic.
